THE DIFFERENCE

All products are handmade at home by me. Each product is produced in  small quantities to ensure freshness. My formulations have as few ingredients as possible and only those that are richest in nutrients for our skin.

All products are free of any harmful chemicals, synthetic fragrances and petroleum derivatives as well as preservatives.

Rosemary, calendula, lavender, chamomile and comfrey come from my own organic garden. The herbs are handpicked and then slowly infused in organic virgin olive oil or organic sweet almond oil.

Herbal oils, butters and waxes used to make my skincare line are never heated over 95° to retain all of their natural vitamins, minerals, nutrients and antioxidants which make them better products for your skin.

ORGANIC STANDARDS

All vegetable oils, butters, waxes, essential oils and herbs I use are either certified organic ( by Oregon Tilth (OTCO) who are an organic certifier accredited by the USDA) or wild harvested and sourced locally.

The organic seal guarantees that the product was grown, harvested and processed without the use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, herbicides, GMO's, synthetic chemicals, growth agents, and free from irradiation and chemical sterilization.

Wildharvested herbs are simply herbs gathered from their natural environment, such as woodlands, prairies, deserts etc.

TRADITIONAL ANIMAL FATS

Beef tallow and lard.

Animal fats  might seem like an unusual ingredients, yet our ancestors used to use them on their skin with great results. My grandmother used to infuse herbs in lard to make a healing salve that worked almost instantly! Little did I know that just a few years later I would find myself rendering beef suet and lard to use in my own skincare line!

Tallow (beef fat) is food for your skin! It's abundant in natural fat-soluble vitamins A,D, E and K and  high in fat-soluble activator CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid), which has anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties. Tallow fat is typically 50 to 55 percent saturated, just like our cell membranes, with almost all of the rest being monounsaturated, so it is very compatible with our cell biology. In other words it is readily absorbed by the skin.

You can find beef tallow and/or lard  in the following products:  old-fashioned tallow balm, hand cream and all soaps.

I obtain lard from local organic pasture raised, soy free pigs and beef suet from 100% grass-fed cows, free of any hormones and antibiotics.

COCONUT OIL

Each of my product contains a significant amount of organic raw virgin unrefined coconut oil.

Coconut oil is a great oil for general moisturizing and serves as a protective layer, helping to retain the moisture in your skin.  It is very rich in antioxidants that prevent free radical formation (free radicals cause skin to lose elasticity). It’s antibacterial and antifungal, too, which is beneficial for maintaining clear skin. And because it’s molecular structure is relatively small, these benefits penetrate deep into underlying tissues that most moisturizers can’t reach.
